Enrico Onofri succeeded in slowing down and dampening the orchestra in Kraus' Symphony in C minor. This is particularly important in the case of the manic-depressive music of this Mozart contemporary, which thrives on violent contrasts. Onofri in no way practices conducting as a higher form of dogmatism: Mozart's Haffner Symphony was not one-sidedly brushed on storm and stress, but sounded radiant and luminous in all its glory at the end of the concert.

Onofri is one of the group of conductors with whom the orchestra will be working closely […] a lot is to be expected here, especially with Viennese classics: Onofri's version of the historically informed style with restrained vibrato in the strings and a lot of brass shine seems rounder than some attempts by his colleagues. His Mozart exudes energy, but its discharges never seem forced or constrained.
